This week we had a great evening catching up with some other Kiwi's living here which was a great relaxed time, enjoying our quirky kiwi sense of humour and funny accents. (Yes, I'm really noticing kiwi accents now... except ours of course!!) The girls have a great time playing with 4 other kiwi kids too!
Our hostesses live in an old Greek summerhouse - their neighbourhood is full of these houses built about 150 years ago which are now protected from demolition and are slowly being restored. Our friends' house has a door on the street and its two storeys plus stairs up to the roof terrace. The ground floor has at least a 4 m stud; there is a courtyard out the back with the kitchen and ablutions on the other side of the courtyard - great for summer but not so great in winter! There is even a well in the courtyard! You'll see some of the other villas in the photo taken from their rooftop. What a great place!
Reminds me a bit of Torrejon in Spain. Good idea this blog. Well done! I remember going to Samos a looooong time ago and loving it. Isn't it cool how you can get to go so many places that are so easy and cheap to get to. Luv Julie
